Elon Musk Wants Me in Prison. I Want Him Under Oath.

The richest man in the world announced that he plans to sue me and called for my arrest.

Let’s start from the top.

On Saturday, I went on Jennifer Welch’s I’ve Had It podcast and said something Elon Musk apparently cannot stand to hear. I said the cuts DOGE made to USAID are potentially a death sentence for an estimated 4.5 million children around the world. That number is not mine. It comes straight from the first comprehensive analysis of its kind into what American foreign aid actually does. Over the past two decades, The Lancet found USAID-funded programs helped prevent more than 91 million deaths, 30 million of them children. The same researchers project that gutting the agency could cause more than 14 million additional deaths by 2030, including 4.5 million children under the age of five.

Then I said the part that set him off. Elon Musk should sit before the House Oversight Committee and testify, under oath, about what he did.

I am a member of that committee. Demanding answers from the people who wield government power is not a stunt and it is not personal. It is the job. When a government official takes a chainsaw to a federal agency and millions of lives hang on the consequences, it is my responsibility to call for him to testify, and if he refuses, to call for him to be subpoenaed. Elon Musk ran DOGE from inside the government. He is exactly the kind of official the Oversight Committee exists to question.

He could have shown up and made his case. He could have argued the study was wrong. Instead, he called me “an evil liar”.

When that did not work, he reached for something uglier. He announced he would sue me. He called for my arrest. He said I belong in prison.

Sit with that for a moment. The richest man in human history answered a request to testify by trying to put the person who asked behind bars. Someone confident he did nothing wrong shows up and clears his name. Elon Musk is doing the opposite because he genuinely believes the law does not apply to him.

This is what lawfare looks like. The lawsuit is the point. The threat of being buried in years of litigation, paid for by the deepest pockets on the planet, is meant to scare a sitting member of Congress into silence.

It won’t. I swore an oath to uphold the law, and holding the powerful to it is the foundation upon which our nation was built.

Here is what Elon Musk has never had to reckon with. I do not take a dime of corporate PAC money. I do not take money from corporate lobbyists, and I do not take a cent from AIPAC. There is no check he can write that buys my vote. I answer to the working families of my district, not to the richest man alive. I ran for Congress to fight for the America the elites stepped on, to make billionaires like him finally pay their fair share, and to put this government back on the side of ordinary Americans.

I am not going away.

For years, a small circle of the richest men on earth have operated as if the rules were written for everyone but them. They buy the access, they buy the silence, and when someone refuses to sell, they reach for the courts to punish them for it. The Epstein Class is used to getting its way. It is not used to being held accountable by a son of immigrants from Bucks County who cannot be bought and will not be bullied. That is why they are scared, and they should be.

So here is my answer to Elon Musk. I have already challenged him to a televised debate on the rule of law. Come testify before the Oversight Committee and answer under oath, the way every other person who has held this kind of power has had to.

If no one else will stand up to them, I will. Stand with me.
